What’s the best piece of mental health advice you’ve been given? I’ll share mine: get your heart rate up. It’s an obvious one. Exercise releases endorphins, which give us a natural and sustainable mood lift. A walk will do, a run is better. Or a swim. Sometimes I just jump around to heavy metal in my underpants. It all helps.
The key is not being too hard on yourself when you can’t summon the motivation to put your trainers on. For such days, other tools are available. What are yours?
